The description for item 203 reproduces part of, and quotes from a letter to Molly Waldron, dated 30 November 1955, discussing how The Lord of the Rings grew and how ”much of the Ancient History was already in existence and written.” He also comments: ”I think the book quite unsuitable for a ‘dramatization’, and have not enjoyed the broadcasts though they have improved. I thought Tom Bombadil dreadful - …” See page 104.
