ISBN printed inside book is 0049280708 This edition resulted from HarperCollins stripping the wrappers from the remaining copies of the Unwin Paperbacks 3rd Impression and replacing them with the cover originally designed for the 1992 Grafton edition. The date of this variant has not been confirmed, but the copy seen has been annotated "Jan 1995" on the title page. This is the (later) Second State of the Third Impression. Appendix C - The Published Writings of J.R.R. Tolkien is complete up to 1986. The photographs included in this book vary - this edition contains 14.
