This catalogue includes four Tolkien-related lots:
Lot 359 - Two letters to Miss Turnbull dated 2 May and 19 May 1955. The lot description quotes from at least one of the letters discussing the completion of The Return of the King.
Lot 360 - A letter to Miss Turnbull dated 11 March 1949, discussing amongst other things, the forthcoming publication of Farmer Giles of Ham and the typing of The Lord of the Rings. A page from the letter is reproduced in a photograph. The lot also included a copy of Farmer Giles of Ham, given to Miss Turnbull by Tolkien.
Lot 361 - A letter to Leila and Patricia Kirke dated 9 January 1945. The lot description includes a quote from the letter discussing illustrations for The Lord of the Rings and help he had received in the production of the book from Christopher and Priscilla.
Lot 362 - Eight letters to Patricia Kirke written between 1954 and 1959. The lot description quotes from at least one of the letters, with Tolkien discussing religious relics and his calligraphic handwriting.
